Surf Watcher relies on the following third-party data sources:

NOAA (National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration)

Wave height, period, and direction data sourced from NOAA's National Data Buoy Center (NDBC). NOAA data is public domain and not affiliated with Surf Watcher. Visit ndbc.noaa.gov for more information.

Google Weather & Google Gemini

Weather data and AI-powered condition summaries powered by Google Weather API and Google Gemini. Usage subject to Google Cloud Terms of Service.

Open-Meteo

Weather verification and backup data sourced from Open-Meteo's free weather API. Visit open-meteo.com for details.

SysWisdom Hyper-Local Model (HLM)

Proprietary AI model for localized condition analysis and board recommendations. Powered by SysWisdom's proprietary system. Learn more at syswisdom.ai/system.

3. WhatsApp Integration & Compliance

Surf Watcher uses WhatsApp Business API to deliver alerts. By opting in to receive alerts:

  • You consent to receive WhatsApp messages at the phone number you provide
  • You acknowledge WhatsApp's Terms of Service and Privacy Policy apply
  • You can opt out at any time by replying STOP to any message
  • Message frequency depends on your alert settings and swell activity
  • Standard WhatsApp messaging rates may apply depending on your carrier

4. Data Accuracy & Disclaimers

While we strive for accuracy, Surf Watcher makes no guarantees about data accuracy, completeness, or timeliness:

  • Data is sourced from third-party providers and may contain delays or errors
  • AI-generated summaries and board recommendations are advisory only
  • Always verify conditions with live cameras or local reports before entering the water
  • Surf Watcher is not responsible for injuries, property damage, or decisions made based on alerts
  • Service availability is not guaranteed; outages may occur without notice

5. User Responsibilities

You agree to:

  • Provide accurate phone number and email information during signup
  • Use Surf Watcher only for personal, non-commercial purposes
  • Not scrape, automate, or reverse-engineer the Service
  • Not share your account or alerts with unauthorized third parties
  • Comply with all applicable laws and regulations in your jurisdiction

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, SURF WATCHER AND SYSWISDOM ARE NOT LIABLE FOR:

  • Any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages
  • Loss of profits, data, or business interruption
  • Injuries or accidents related to surfing or water activities
  • Third-party service failures (NOAA, Google, WhatsApp, Open-Meteo)
  • Any damages exceeding the amount paid for the Service in the past 12 months
